“I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance, a church filled with family and friends. I asked him what kind of wedding he wished for; He said the one that would make me his wife.” –Author Unknown
Every bride has a mile long list of things to do before the big day. There are flowers to buy, new shoes to break in, hair and makeup appointments to schedule, a playlist to give the DJ. With so many things to remember how can a bride choose the most important one?
Brides need to remember why they’re getting married in the first place. This day was planned to be a celebration of your relationship and a time to proclaim your love for each other in front of family and friends. Brides need to be happy, have fun, and enjoy their wedding day. It is one of the most important days of a person’s life and may set the tone for the rest of the couple’s lives together.
Your wedding day will be full of distractions. There will most likely be issues with the food, service, venue, and of course jealous guests who will be dying for your attention. A smart bride needs to not be distracted by all of the wedding day commotion and remember to fully be present at her wedding and live in the moment. She needs to spend time with her husband and remember that they day is about them and their love for each other.
Brides need to remember that their wedding day is about themselves and their grooms. Not guests, dramatic bridesmaids, or grandmothers who want to spend the fix their granddaughter’s dress every time it moves. Couples need to take time out from celebrating to tell each other how much they love each other and how happy they are to be there. Couples need to remember that everything about their wedding day should be happy, fun, and reflective of the couple’s unique personalities and relationship.
Sure hair, nails, makeup, and food are important parts of a wedding but when it’s all said and done those won’t be the things the couple remembers in 50 years when they think back to their wedding day. What will be remembered is the way the couple felt, how happy they were, and how their wedding was the splendid start of their lives together.
